Similarly, I’ve seen a Pontiac G6 (or something, too generic for me to car what it was) with a vanity plate which said 4G63. I was like “No. No, it is not.”
my guess for things like this is some guy got his dream car (and spent all his money on it,) got the plate, wrecked the car and had no insurance (or just PL/PD) and was stuck with the plate.

There was a conversion van that lived near my elementary school when I was a kid. The license plate read: TRANS AM.
